Information

The Lauber LENZ is the ideal combination of german efficiency, simplicity and robust engineering. We have 6 different sized drying units in the LENZ range from 100-1000kw. The LENZ unit comes either skid mounted or in a weather proof housing and is delivered pre-plumbed and pre-cabled to represent a true plug a play solution. The LENZ is then connected to drying bins, a static drying floor, converted trailers or a moving floor system. Please explore the products section for more information on the options available.

Whilst it makes no sense to use high grade biomass as a fuel to dry more high grade biomass, it does however provide a viable solution to use low grade waste wood as a fuel to dry higher grade material. For this reason, biomass boilers such as the Heizomat RHK-AK series provide an ideal combustion system for using material that would ordinarily not be as sellable.

The key to utilising biomass fuel as the heat inout for drying is the ability to low grade fuel such as:

  • With the working mode according to return water temperature, the fan speed will be controlled automatically in order to maintain the desired return temperature to the heating source.
  • The working mode according to air temperature is suitable for the drying of seed, grain and other temperature-sensitive bulk solids.

We all know that water doesn’t burn, we also know that the energy embodied within biomass fuel is proportional to its moisture content.

Traditionally wood is seasoned using natural resources; the sun and the wind, however seasoning, by definition, involves time.

In light of the exponential growth of the biomass boiler sales in the UK, the demand for fuel has also grown exponentially. However due to the time required to air season fuel (6-18 months) the market has struggled to keep up with demand and the result is a massive opportunity for those looking to force-dry biomass fuels.

Anaerobic digestion generates a significant amount of energy which can be harnessed to dry bulk solids. The sophisticated technology behind a L-ENZ unit makes the very efficient use of this 'waste' heat.
